Audition Notice: Spring Talent Show 2022
Dear Swan River Family,
Greetings from the music room! Auditions for the talent show are scheduled for Thursday, April 21st, right after school. The actual show is Thursday, May 12th at 1:30 (with a dress rehearsal on the 11th). Not everyone who auditions will be selected for the show. With that in mind, your student’s age-appropriate act should be almost “performance ready” for the audition.
On audition day, your student should:
Be ready to go at 3:20; auditions are first come, first served
Be prepared to perform the entire act
Bring all props required for the performance
Bring any background music required for the performance; I can provide background music if I know ahead of time
Thanks for your support and encouraging your child to participate in this exciting school event. If you need to contact me, please call me at school: 837-4528 during the day or email anytime: fuzesyb@swanriverschoolk-8.org.
Until next time,
Ms. Fuzesy music

Christmas Program
Swan River School hosted their annual Christmas program for the community this past Thursday, December 14. A great and long standing tradition, the gymnasium was packed with family and friends who came to watch the program, which features a variety of performances that includes most every student in the school.
Before the program, each class displayed a decorative Christmas themed dinner-in-a-box for the community to see. Each year, the PTO organizes this event, every class decorates its own box (or tomato cage this year), and students and their families contribute food items that when gathered together, make a nice dinner. These dinners-in-box are given to families in the community that could use and appreciate the meal.
The evening’s program began with a music concert provided by the school’s musical performance classes. This year, the 5th grade’s beginning band started the evening and was followed by the middle school band, and the the middle school choir. Lights, Camera, Christmas! was then performed by students from grades 3-6 acting in the roles of talking reindeer, elves, various movie directors, and other characters as they worked together to figure out how to best produce a movie about Christmas. Additionally, in between scenes, each class in grades K-5 performed a song as part of the program.
As is the case every year, a great deal of time and effort went into making this a memorable experience for the students and a special event for the community. We appreciate Ms. Fuzesy leading the program this year and all those who were involved in any way. #srsgreat

A Visit from Montana Wild Wings
Swan River School students enjoyed a special learning opportunity as we were visited by the Montana Wild Wings Recovery Center (MWWRC) on Monday, November 13. At the assembly, all students K-8 appreciated getting an up close view of hawks, owls, and falcons found in Montana. The MWWRC shared many interesting facts about the raptors and also information about the great work they do in caring for these birds.
We feel very fortunate to have such unique learning experiences because of the rich wildlife environment that surrounds us and organizations like the Montana Wild Wings Recovery Center. #srsgreat

Celebration Assembly for 1st Quarter
Swan River School celebrated our students’ first quarter efforts to be respectful, be responsible, be safe, and be learners at the assembly held on Monday, November 13. The first portion of the celebration recognized the 63 students in grades 5-8 who achieved Honor Roll status. The 49 individual students in grades K-8 having outstanding attendance (missing just one school day or less) were then acknowledged, as were the 19 students who had perfect attendance. This was followed by celebrating the classes with top attendance, an honor won by our 4th grade with 95.4% attendance. Finally, grades K-5 had their Survivor Island celebration, which included a gummy worm, a prize, and good loud WARRIOR PRIDE chant!
Our school holds these celebrations at the end of each quarter. We are proud of our Warriors! #srsgreat
